8 HOTTEST HAIR TRENDS FOR 2021
* BRAIDED PIGTAILS
Braided pigtails have never truly gone out of style, but now, more than ever they are adored. Two braids or french braids look very symmetrical and appealing on a round, oval, heart shaped, or narrow face. You can also place little gems or a flower crown on top of the braids to add variety depending on if you’re going to an event or just wearing in the comfort of your home. Make sure you make your braids in the mirror, as they should be the same distance from your ears and the same looseness or tightness. Some stray hair looks super cute, or you can slick them back and make them tight too. Braided pigtails are in for all ages!
* STATEMENT HAIRBANDS
Whether you are going for sparkles and glitter or beads and crystals or flowers and vines, they’re all in style. Any type of statement is a good one in 2021. Stand out. Your appearance is a huge indicator of who you are as a person… the things you wear, the way you style your hair, make it you. Unique and edgy and fun hair pieces that suit your personality. You could even make the hairbands yourself with your own artsy touch.
* MICRO FRINGES
Micro fringes look great on smaller faces, as the cut frames the entire face in almost a doll-like fashion. It is more on the edgy side, but can soften super sharp features and be more inviting as well.
Perms used to be so so so popular and just recently came back into style, but are here to stay for a bit. It’s a fun way to change up your appearance for a few months without making a lifetime commitment. Are you sick of your straight bland hair? Add some life and some color into your hair.
* THE COLOR RED
Ever color your hair? They always say blondes have more fun… but there are so many fake blondes so is it even fun anymore? RED… making statements here in 2021 after such a bland 2020. Go bold or go home. Reddish gold, to reddish maroon, to a mix of the two, to an ombre style… red is so fun and romantic. I definitely recommend trying it out this year, you’ll get tons of compliments.
* RIBBONS AND SCRUNCHIES
Ribbons and scrunchies are a very inexpensive and fun way to liven up your hair. You can get them in silk, velvet or any material and add it to your ponytail. This takes no extra time but adds the element of fun to a boring old high or low ponytail. A ribbon can be tied in different ways too, or even curled at the end to contrast with the hair. You can also add little ribbons to the bottom of your braids. Scrunchies are fun for high top buns too because standard hair ties are usually boring and basic.
* SHARP SIDE PART
Very few people have a symmetrical face so having the hair part in the middle brings emphasis to the imperfections. Making a bold side part can really bring out the eyes and focus your attention to the beauty in the imperfections.
* SUPER LONG HAIR
Grow out your hair. Long, full of volume hair is very in style. Sitting on those ends… it might be tricky in the summer but in the winter it’s nice to use your hair as a scarf or a shawl. Keep the dead ends off and watch your hair grow longer and healthier. Curly or straight are both in, for a sharper face I recommend curls and for softer facial features the straight adds some sharpness.
